DRS were first involved with marine salvage when requested to deal with the MD Kodima cargo vessel in 2001, the vessel got into difficulty during heavy weather, which resulted in the 4000m3 cargo of timber being jettisoned from the vessel and washing up at Whitsand Bay, Cornwall.
