Strict programme and budgetary constraints dictate that, when problems arise, strategic solutions are found to ensure that progress is not affected.

In the event of an incident or emergency the DRS Team will:

• Ensure clear communications are established with all agencies involved giving the roles, responsibilities and contact details of DRS people.
• Help establish what has happened, if required, including the assessment of any risks or hazards.
• Assist with making safe, preserving life and protecting the environment.
• Assess the impact of the situation, and take any necessary immediate preventative action
• Rapidly identify and prioritise what actions are required to contain and regain control.
• Ensure sufficient resources are available including the correct type of plant, equipment and transportation.
• Develop, instigate and maintain a suitable recovery plan in conjunction with others.
• Ensure that any reporting procedures are established and 'open book' financial records kept.
